Avive is the first FDA approved connected AED. Smaller and more affordable than traditional AEDs, Avive's vision is consumerize AEDs to create "4 minute cities".

The core of Avive's experience is its connectedness. Rapid Response teams are able to see the locations of all Avive AEDs and can alert communities if a cardiac arrest emergency is happening nearby. By doing so, they are able to use community support network to decrease the time to shock, greatly increasing patient's chance of survival.

The interaction design of Avive's AED was critical and could be the difference between life and death. Our team led the research and testing through rapid rounds of iteration with first time users and were able to decrease the time to shock from 2 min 30 sec to under 1 min 30 sec.
